This is the latest ISOCELL Sensor that will be carried Galaxy S9


In addition to smartphones and processors, Samsung also developed its own camera sensor, namely ISOCELL. Currently secretly Samsung has prepared a new ISOCELL sensor that he said to apply to the flagship Galaxy S9. This sensor will have a capability that is almost equivalent to Sony IMX400 sensor that can record slow motion 960 fps video.
Thanks to 3-stack Fast Read Out Sensors (FRS) and Dual Pixel Super Phase Detection Sensors (Super PD) incorporated in this new ISOCELL sensor, the camera can aim and lock focus faster and more accurately than previous generations. Intelligently, Super PD can identify the distance of a fast moving object, even when light is lacking.

Samsung has confirmed the latest ISOCELL sensor is capable of recording slow motion 480 fps video at Full HD resolution (1.080p). In comparison, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + are only able to record slow motion 240 fps video on HD resolution (720p).
In other words, Galaxy S9 users will get a camera with video recording capability with twice the framerate (fps) in higher resolution than the Galaxy S8. Of course if the latest ISOCELL sensor is capable of recording 480 fps video at Full HD resolution (1.080p) then theoretically capable of their 960 fps video at HD resolution (720p).
Earlier Sony was the first company to bring dual-stacked sensors through the Xperia smartphone capable of recording 960 fp video. But the implementation is not completely intuitive because the user can only record the action for a few seconds only and it is difficult to know which scene is recorded.
